Warmup: CF x 1

skill: review dip and drive, proper foot placement for split jerk.


In a proper split jerk, the torso stays completely vertical in the initial dip, and remains vertical during the powerful drive with the legs. The feet rapidly move to the split receiving position (note front foot is AHEAD of front knee, a knee in front of the foot is a classic indicator of short-stepping) while the arms drive the body down. Note how the torso is under the bar.

strength: split jerk, 1RM 

metcon:
run 400m (once), then-
10 toe to bar, 10 burpees
AMRAP 10 min.

A good article from Trident CrossFit regarding burpees and power output- a mathematical explanation why they're such a good exercise, and why they suck so much!

Strength- did my own thing... for 1.5 hrs.

metcon- 6 rds + 5 burpees. Surprised to beat Vlad.

Man I am looking forward to the strength portion of the WOD (Love me some split jerks) and DREAAAAADING the metcon for so many reasons, running actually being the least of them.
