8/24/11 -- Great trainers, gym and workouts! I began Crossfit here and loved it! The trainers were very knowledgable--both focusing on technique and motivation. I loved the varied workouts and social setting at CrossfitElysium so much that when I had to move for work I decided to continue Crossfit. Trainers Stacie, Paul and Leon have done a great job with this gym. Highly recommended!

8/20/11 -- Although I live closer to several other crossfit gyms in San Diego, I choose to drive the extra miles to get to Crossfit Elysium because it is the BEST in San Diego. I've been a member since they opened over a year ago and I am absolutely addicted! My day is just not the same if/when I cannot make it to the daily workout with my Elysium friends. The coaches at CrossFit Elysium take a sincere personal interest in each and every client, and they can tailor any workout to your individual abilities/goals. They always seem to know what I am capable of and have encouraged me to achieve fitness goals I never dreamed of! I leave every class drenched in sweat, feeling great, and eagerly awaiting the next class! They are constantly adapting the gym space/equipment/resources/classes to meet the needs of the growing number of members, but also to maintain the personalized experience. Everyone in the gym knows everyone and we all motivate each other to push hard through the workouts. It is truly a community of people and we welcome the opportunity to meet new clients and watch their fitness goals become reality. Come check out a free workout any Sunday at noon and you will see for yourself....Crossfit Elysium is the BEST gym in town!

8/19/11 - I heart crossfit elysium!!! my life in san diego wouldn't be the same without this place. within the walls of this beautiful facility, i have found competent and motivating coaches who know how to take each individual to their own unique edge, and a community of people who are just as invested as improving their own health and well being as they are mine. i have never had more fun while getting the most efficient and effective workout i have ever engaged in! i cannot say enough about this place... it is my 'cheers', my therapist, my playground, and my gym. since finding elysium my 'skinny jeans' are now tight in all the right places, i have met some of the most amazing people since i moved to san diego, and find that these motivating factors have created this addiction to being invested in building the best me possible!!! i could go on forever about this place, because of all that it has given me... but would encourage anyone who is interested to just stop in and check it out for yourself... but be warned, if you don't already have an addiction to building the best you possible, while having a great time doing it... you might leave leave with one :)

7/31/11 -- These guys are awesome! Coach Leon, Coach Paul, and Coach Stacie are the best. They take good care of all their students and make sure you try your hardest, stay safe, and get results. They even offer a free community workout every Sunday at noon.

8/6/11 -- Personal and quality training. A great location with an even better community of people. The trainers are very attentive, the coaching is adapted to everyone's level of fitness and the other members really make it feel like a community, not just another gym. Add to all of that the efficacy of the CrossFit method and you have all the elements of true success.

8/8/11 -- Fun, effective and challenging! I joined Elysium 9 months ago. I am a female in my mid-forties...I was concerned it would be too intimidating and beyond my fitness level. I was wrong! Yes, Crossfit pushes you to become as fit as you ever imagined yourself to be, but I was coached and supported by the community of Elysium every step of the way. I love working out at Elysium, week after week now...I cannot believe how much more fit I feel and look. The coaches are the best in San diego...LOVE this place!

8/9/11 -- I started with CF Elysium 4 months ago . Though I've started off slow (my own fault), all the coaches here have been 100% positive with their instruction and training with me. They all push me exactly the way I need to be, to perform at my maximum. Whether it's 1 more rep that I didn't think I could do, or putting that extra 5 lbs on the bar, they know just how to force me to succeed. The community is also fantastic here. All the members are there just as much for each other, as they are for themselves. You'll always get cheered on no matter what. What an awesome gym!

Review by T. from google.com

8/14/11 -- I started with Crossfit Elysium when they first opened the doors. I had lost fitness when I moved to San Diego after suffering a couple debilitating injuries. One such injury involved me tearing up my shoulder. I had very limited range of motion, couldn't raise it above my head, much less hang on a bar. It would throb at night and I was faced with the very real possibility of a difficult surgery, and the rest of my life not being able to toss a ball or swim. Paul and Leon at Crossfit Elysium worked with me to rebuild the muscles in my shoulder. Over a year later, I'm still slowed by the injury, but I have opted out of surgery, have about 90 percent of range of motion back, oh, and I can do pull ups now. Yes, real pull ups, from a bar, hanging overhead. Amazing! That's only the tip of the iceberg. Just the other day, I decided to ride up to Vista on my bicycle, from central San Diego. I had not been on a long ride all year, and decided to do it. I thought, I'm a crossfitter. And sure enough, I rode to Vista. That's what Crossfit Elysium does for you-- it helps you get ready to live your life. Love them!

8/10/11 -- CrossFit Elysium San Diego is THE CrossFit Gym. A great staff with impeccable credentials, a clean friendly workout space, and a training plan for everyone. All of San Diego should make CrossFit Elysium their choice for a CrossFit Gym.

8/4/11 -- Great group of trainers!  I stopped by on vacation and was welcomed to join their workout.  Even though I was just visiting they treated my like a member.  I wish they were in my town.  Thanks Leon and Paul!

Review by Briana D. on Yelp.com

3/19/2011--I have been training at CrossFit Elysium since August 2010 (going on 7 months now) and I have nothing but praise for this gym and it's coaches (Paul, Leon and Stacie).

Background: I was very active throughout high school and most of college but found myself not taking care of myself throughout grad school while working fulltime. After gaining 30 pounds, I decided to get back into shape. I hit the gym the way I used to but wasn't really seeing any results. I had heard of "this crazy workout program called CrossFit" but was too afraid to start it (#1 because I thought I'd fail, #2 I knew it was more expensive that a standard membership to a corporate gym). My frustration with lack of results finally outweighed my fear and I joined Elysium.

All I can say is that decision changed my life. Crossfit works. However, I want to make it clear it does not work like a magic pill. You can not pay to have a membership here and not go and expect results. It will be hard....but you'll love every minute of it at Elysium.

You'll be sweating and working your butt off, whether this is your first time working out in 15 years or you're a seasoned athlete. But you'll also have three very supportive, awesome coaches cheering you along..making sure you are doing your best and giving yourself the credit you deserve for doing all this madness. You'll also have a close knit Crossfit family, who you'll look forward to working out with everyday.

As for my perspective on the price now? I would give up cable, my phone, my car, *everything*..... before giving up my Elysium membership. It is *that* valuable to me. In fact, considering you get "personal training level attention" at each workout (classes are 1-6ish people), I can't believe I ever considered it "expensive".

I've completely changed my body in the last 7 months and I'm so happy. I feel like I'm back to my athlete shape again. It feels really good to see the progress on the waistline and strength. It also feels good to have everyone else see it too ("oh my god! you look great..have you been working out?"...."haha. ohhhh yeah, you have no idea.") I also can't believe the progress I've seen all the other Elysium members make. It's truly inspirational to see what my Elysium friends are capable of.

If Crossfit/Elysium peaks your interest in the slightest bit, don't be scared. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by and chatting with Paul and looking at all the awesome pictures of members on the walls, or stop by for the free community workouts (Sundays @ noon).

I love this place.

8/22/2010--Great gym with very knowledgeable trainers who tailor workouts to your fitness goals.  Never tried crossfit until I went to their free sessions on Sundays.  Truly opened my eyes to a whole new way to workout!
