8/14/11 -- I started with Crossfit Elysium when they first opened the doors. I had lost fitness when I moved to San Diego after suffering a couple debilitating injuries. One such injury involved me tearing up my shoulder. I had very limited range of motion, couldn't raise it above my head, much less hang on a bar. It would throb at night and I was faced with the very real possibility of a difficult surgery, and the rest of my life not being able to toss a ball or swim. Paul and Leon at Crossfit Elysium worked with me to rebuild the muscles in my shoulder. Over a year later, I'm still slowed by the injury, but I have opted out of surgery, have about 90 percent of range of motion back, oh, and I can do pull ups now. Yes, real pull ups, from a bar, hanging overhead. Amazing! That's only the tip of the iceberg. Just the other day, I decided to ride up to Vista on my bicycle, from central San Diego. I had not been on a long ride all year, and decided to do it. I thought, I'm a crossfitter. And sure enough, I rode to Vista. That's what Crossfit Elysium does for you-- it helps you get ready to live your life. Love them! |
